This Washington, Connecticut property is tucked into the Litchfield Hills. And like so many woodland areas in northwest Connecticut, the forest was filled with invasive plants - barberry, burning bush, and garlic mustard, to name just a few. We cleared the immediate woods of invasives, planted eco-friendly grasses, and created a path for the homeowners' quiet contemplation. We regraded the hillside to accommodate a pool just off the porch, adding steps and a simple blue stone patio for furniture. The two trees that frame the pool were a happy accident - the result of clearing the invasive plants, an invitation to enjoy the woodland unencumbered.
